We have two popular plans: Budget and Pre-Buy Accounts.

  • BUDGET: At James River Petroleum, we estimate your yearly consumption of fuel and divide it by 10. You then make low monthly payments instead of paying during peak volume times. Each January we review your actual consumption and adjust payments accordingly. Budget payments start in August and end in May.
  • PRE-BUY: The consumer purchases bulk oil during lower summer prices, and then James River Petroleum delivers it to them throughout the high-volume season (August 20-June 30).

Driven by market factors including seasonality (higher demand in winter), cost of crude oil, competition in local markets and regional operating costs, heating oil prices for the consumer can be controlled more by having tanks filled in off-season summer times, or by pre-buying bulk at low price times to be delivered throughout the season.
